What Motivates Us? How about in school?

The notion of motivation for individuals in the work place was always thought to be monetary. Not so true according to Daniel Pink.  According to the latest research, money is not the end all be all we once thought it was.  Watch this video to see what really motivates us.  Do you think this can work in education?

Amazing stop motion video! Really keeps your attention and engaged! Kudos to the artist!

Wow! What an interesting video! I had always wondered why their were so many free applications or software out there and why people didn't want to get rich off of them... well this explained it. I couldn't help but wonder how productive teachers could be if schools actually let teachers occasionally choose what they did for professional development. In addition, this video explains why so many teachers are so driven and passionate... because we don't get paid by our performance! However, I am on the fence as to if we are paid enough, so we are not thinking about money, and then can focus truly on the work as the video expressed as optimal.
