This is what we should be doing in our classrooms!

Take a minute to read Jeff Utecht's blog posting about what his school is doing with Web2.0 tools. I am sure the children are so excited to get to class each day to work on their learning projects. A flip camera has to be one of the greatest inventions so far. I have only been using mine for a couple of weeks, and I must say, the usability factor is amazing. So easy, anyone can do it, if they can plug in a cord into a USB port. Wa-La, downloaded mini videos or .jpg files ready to edit or use. I hope this is what we want our students looking forward to each day when they come to our schools... fun, exciting, learning environments, where they are free to share with others and collaborate. Do you agree?

I agree completely and cannot thank you enough for continuing Jeff's efforts to promote 21 century learning in the classroom. I am in a district where I am blessed to have 6 flip cameras in my room. I teach 6th and 7th grade students and they are amazingly easy to use. My students best work last semester was definately their movies. They had such a great time planning and creating. The flip camera makes it easy to go into editing and rendering, it took half the time of other digital tools and software that I have used. I wish I could post a movie using a flip camera but that is currently against our school policy. The students are allowed to upload their movies to Mahara where they can view them not only in class but at home with their families.
